EasyCard or a THSR Pass?
A city card on day one. Unlimited high-speed is a different product — run the official NTD table on Taiwan transit. The Pass does not make the MRT free. We will not invent a stored-value number.
Airport or the first station?
Whichever machine you reach while you still have a mind. Do not debug a wallet on a transfer in the heat. Plastic first. Reload when asked.
Kaohsiung and Tainan too?
Often, on city transit. High-speed south is still a reserved ticket or a Pass you actually ran. When to skip unlimited.
Phone wallet?
If it already works on your device. Do not become a help desk on the platform. Buy the card before you collect opinions.
