Enough Japanese is a door, not a personality.
You do not need a speech. You need sumimasen, the station you will actually get off at, and enough hiragana to choose an exit without becoming weather in the transfer corridor. Fluency is a different trip. This page is what helps a guest move.
The living culture

The most useful sentence you can copy as a guest is still a quieter voice. Language sits on top of that, not instead of it.
